Choir

St John's C of E School Choir

Choir runs on Mondays after school from 3:30-4:30 in the Year 5 classroom with Miss Hagan.

Choir is open to all Year 5 and Year 6 pupils.

This year we have performed Avulekile Amasango and Something Inside So Strong by Labri Siffre for Mr Gunn’s Retirement Concert in December. Avulekile is a song from South Africa sung in Zulu and it means “Heaven’s Gates Have Opened”. Something Inside So Strong is one of Mr Gunn’s much-enjoyed songs.

The choir was split into tenors, altos and sopranos and everyone sang beautifully.

This year,  we are working hard at singing in 2 and 3-part harmonies. We will cover contemporary praise songs, uplifting songs and a repertoire of songs for the Barnet Schools Festival in June.
